On October 24, 2025, I had the pleasure of speaking at ETUK 2025 — the 8th National Congress and Exhibition on Electrical Facilities, held at the Tepekule Congress and Exhibition Center in Izmir, Turkey.
My session, “Cybersecurity and Potential Risks in Electrical Infrastructure Systems,” explored insights from my PhD research on strengthening cybersecurity in Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) networks. I also introduced the Critical Infrastructure and OT/ICS Security Maturity Model Assessment approach and the security hardening framework I’ve been developing to enhance resilience in critical systems — a topic that is increasingly vital as IT and OT environments converge.
A sincere thank you to the organizing committee and the Chamber of Electrical Engineers, Izmir Branch, for their kind invitation and for creating such an excellent platform for technical exchange. It was a privilege to connect with peers, share ideas, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on securing critical infrastructures.
